The Wealth Artisan says
Hey Kevin,
Great Round up! I really enjoyed the video of the week. I am a product of the public school system, but I won’t give it too much credit. Had it not been for computers, the internet, and a voracious appetite for learning, I’d be like the guy serving food in the video. It’s a blessing that I came out of it as well as I did.
I do feel bad for some of the teachers though, as I know a couple of very good ones that get brought down by the system. Many of the really good ones vacate the public school system and enter into the private system because of the political BS that comes with the public school system.
Thanks,
Timothy
Kevin says
Hi Timothy,
I’m glad that you went through it alright. I wonder how many people do fall through the cracks due to the apathy of the system? I was also nearly one of those, myself. You would think that by this point people would see the problems of enforced monopolies, but it seems that they have been taken hostage and led to believe that everything will be better if only we “increase funding”.
I am hopeful and more optimistic that the Internet as a distribution channel may be able to mount serious competition against the entrenched system and offer students an alternative avenue for information and learning. Thanks for your comment!
