Fall

This has been a busy week so far. I started classes which I am taking twice a week after work, and there is quite a bit of homework and study attached. I really don’t remember how I used to mix work and school in the past!

Here are my posts over the past week:

I’ve decided to try a new format for my weekly roundup. After a discussion on Barbara Friedberg Personal Finance about link posts, I will split things up into my favorite weekly reads (limited to 10 max!), mentions for those who linked to me, and a video of the week if there is one to share.

  1. Hey Kevin, thanks for the mention!

    Per your suggestion, I just installed Conditional Captcha. Hopefully that will keep your comments from getting the spam treatment. Thought if I understand the settings they’ll still have to be manually approved.

  2. Yes Kevin, I have been trying to scale back the number of “links” in my weekly “link post” as well. It is a delicate balance for sure!

  3. Hey Kevin, as part of that same disscussion, I also plan to reduce the amount of links in my roundup to 10. I think it will be easier for my readers to follow and to support those that I link to.

    Thanks for including my article on printing costs!

    @ Mike, I also installed Conditional Captcha – it’s working well so far. Thanks for the suggestion, Kevin!

  4. Thanks for the mention, Kevin. I appreciate it.

    Where’s that photo from, by the way?

  5. Thanks for the mention Kevin!

  6. Thanks for the mention Kevin, have a great weekend!

  7. Hi Kevin – Thanks for the mention, TWICE! And good luck. I love speaking 2 languages, but the learning process is tough! Good luck, it’s worth it!

  8. Kevin,

    Thanks a million for linking to my post.

    Thanks very much for the link as always. I really don’t link out enough but I am hoping to try and start integrating a weekly link roundup. I need to plan it week long and make a file, it can be written as I go along I guess and hopefully can add commentary to each link…. You have been having some great thought provoking posts recently.

    Yep, the conditional captcha seperates the pass/failed into two folders depending on settings.
    @Roshawn, @Khaleef
    10 might be a good number to go for! There are always so many articles I want to include though, so it’s tough…
    @Myke
    You’re welcome! I believe it’s from near the Adirondacks.
    @BeatingTheIndex, @Financial Cents
    You’re welcome!
    @Barb Friedberg
    Cool, what do you speak as your second language! Agreed about the learning process!
    @Bret
    You’re welcome, keep up the good posts!
    @Forest
    I like the way you’ve been linking out to Yakeziers as part of the post body lately; keep doing that! :)

  11. Thanks so much for the mention! Have a great week!

  12. I hear you on school and work.. AND website… AND social life… AND sports… I seriously need an additional 10 hours in the day…

    I just started school too, and already my blog has suffered…:(

  13. Kevin says:

    @Budgeting in the Fun Stuff
    Thanks, you too :)
    @myfinancialobjectives
    It’s tough. On the other hand, the increased structure & pressure allows me to make better use of my time… well, at least so far. We’ll see if it really gets too much later on. So far it’s at least an additional 15 hours a week or so for class + homework + study!
