This weekend the Financial Blogger Conference is happening in Chicago! Hundreds of bloggers are attending, including many Yakezie bloggers and big names such as Ramit Sethi. I did not make it, so if you were there, I’d love to hear your stories. 🙂

China
If ever you think you have it tough, just read this story written by a peasant girl from China (note: China Smack version is a little embellished and the pictures are not of the actual person).

Something else that was interesting: In China they have these “human flesh search” engines. Basically if someone caught you doing something you shouldn’t have been doing… and people want to find out who you are, an army of people does research until they track you down and find you. Interesting, if a bit scary and dystopian!

Thanks for the mention! By the way, when does the Financial Blogger Conference last until?
My Own Advisor says
Thanks for the mention Kevin. From everything I’ve read about the folks in Chicago, they are having a very good time!

Hey Kevin, thanks for including my site.
The conference was fantastic. Absolutely exhausting, but it was totally worth the cost of admission. I was really impressed with the speaker line up, and I can say I learned a ton.
I need a nap now…
Buck Inspire says
Missed the conference, but sounded like a blast. Human flesh search? Sounds like Google for cannibals. Great round up and thanks for including me!
Geoff says
Hey Kevin, thanks for checking out my new blog and including it in your roundup!
p.s. I wish I could’ve made it to the conference to meet everyone face to face!
Rob Bennett says
I was at the conference.
I agree that it was exhausting. But I cheated and went to bed early rather than going to the Saturday night party. That’s the sort of thing you are reduced to when you are 54 and most of the people in your group are in their late 20s and early 30s!
Everyone had good things to say about the conference. It was put on in a highly professional way. I met lots of smart and kind people and enjoyed myself. I am certain there will be another one next year and I plan to attend again.
I hope to see you there next year, Kevin. I very much would like to get to talk things over with you in person!

I really wish I could have made the conference. Shame, it looked like a lot of fun.

Yep I will definitely have to consider about going and making it next time. Sounds like it was really worth it!
