Have you ever wanted to embed a form into your WordPress blog page or post? Using Google Docs, it’s easy, and it can be done in a few simple steps:
- In Google Docs, select “Create New->Form”.
- Choose your questions and question types. You can select whether you want them to be mandatory or optional.
- When everything looks good, select “More Actions->Embed”.
- While editing your post in HTML mode, paste the code into your post/page.
- Change the width value to “100%”, and adjust the height as you see fit.
Here are a few notes to remember while editing your page/post:
- Every time you switch to the Visual editor, your form will be erased. You can simply go back to Google Docs and grab the embed code again.
- If you update your form in Google Docs, it will automatically update in your page/post. You may have to adjust width/height to get rid of scrollbars.
- To get rid of the scroll bars, change the width value to “100%” and adjust the height until the scrollbar disappears.
And that’s it! Google Forms is another way that Google Apps can help you increase your productivity!

Good little informative post, Kevin.
I’m assuming this how you created the entry form for your 6 month giveaway? I was going to email to ask how you did that.

You know, I have been meaning to look into google docs more and experiment with how it would benefit my MO. Thanks for the tip.

That seems easy – except having to re-paste the code when switching editors in WP. I like that it will update the form just from you changing the code on the Google site…pretty impressive.

Having to repaste the code does get annoying, but you can make a place holder for it and easily repaste it back in once you’ve done all the changes that you need to in Visual mode.
