There are many factors that businesses may consider first when starting and moving forward. Nowadays, some business trends are rising on its way to attract more customers or level up marketing strategies. Here are just some of them:
- Taking the millennials into mind
Although a lot of research has labeled the millennials as “stubborn, materialistic, and lazy,” businesses can actually use that to their advantage. Quite the contrary, it is revealed that millennials are more creative, driven, and innovative. Nowadays, businesses have begun embracing the qualities and standards of the millennials and taking their needs and wants into consideration. It is even more expected to elevate in the year 2017 when they would eventually take over the majority of the job force.
- Building your brand
In the present age of the internet, a lot of businesses have taken it up a notch by enhancing their brands to stand out among their competitors. For example, they have taken steps to improve their social media and web presence. Businesses use different methods and strategies to enhance their branding – such as creating their own websites and blogs or marketing in social media. This is because the market is becoming more saturated and competition is growing stronger. A business needs to create a stellar brand for their consumers to remember them.
- Rising in e-commerce
Because of the technology expansion, more and more shops turn toward the virtual side, which is the e-commerce. There has been an increased demand for online e-commerce tools because businesses can now easily target their customers and audiences by generating campaigns and marketing online. Cables and Sensors CEO Diego Orjuela uses certain e-commerce platforms to streamline their business to focus on making things more efficient and effective. Also, a lot of businesses have taken the initiative to provide free shipping, bigger discounts, and freebies. Therefore, it is now becoming more convenient for people to shop online.
- Engage and connect more with customers
Businesses should try to engage and connect with their customers’ emotions. It’s simply because customers don’t like to feel they’re being sold. Instead, businesses can provide solutions to solve their problems or add values to what they sell. They should strive to understand what their customers need and want, then cater to their requests. It makes the consumers think that their inputs are something that businesses should focus on even more to deliver complete satisfaction.
- Videos as source of information
Content marketing has become an integral source of information, but nowadays, videos are also becoming more essential. According to Forbes, 80% now watch videos online unlike before. This shows quite a large percentage that proves how videos can now be used to share valuable contents and information. People are now more inclined to watch a video over reading blogs or articles, and that is something a business should ponder about. It helps a brand interact closer with their target audience, and likewise, consumers will also feel like they already know them better.
Joanne Mahoney says
I have to agree, if marketing to millennials, e-commerce is the way to go. I don’t know if I would call the up-and-coming generation lazy, but they are definitely less “interactive” when it comes to face to face contact.
It will interesting to see the innovations that will come along to market to this segment of the population
