Ways to Make Money from Home

By Mich

adult bankingPayday comes and payday goes and what happens in between is a lot of looking around saying “Hey, where did all my money go? … I can’t wait for payday” – sound familiar? Being a millionaire looks like so much fun. Wouldn’t it be nice if there were a way to rewind the clock to a time of no responsibilities and focus on getting a business idea off the ground? Or even just choosing a college course like neurosurgery or architecture, instead of the pointless arts and media course you took that set you up with similar career prospects to a school leaver whose only “job” to date was a week in detention helping to scrape chewing gum off the underside of lunchroom benches. But wait. All is not lost. Making money from home is an option few people explore – and there are many things you can do.

Before we begin, something came up recently in conversation with a friend who was accidentally not claiming all of his welfare entitlements (are you certain you are? For, example, see info on veterans’ benefits).

Craigslist, eBay, etc.

Step one is more of a once and done money maker than an ongoing thing. Look around. That treadmill you bought and used twice can go. Or how about the pair of suitcases you bought online and only used once because you didn’t like the colour but it was too late to send them back. Other things that can be sold include old phones, unused bookshelves clogging up the garage, and even birthday gifts that you’ve never taken out of the box (because thanks, weird neighbour next door, but who needs a set of crab and lobster themed photo frames from your holiday to Portugal …I suppose it was the thought that counts).

Sell services on Fiverr

If you’re unfamiliar, Fiverr is a site where you say you have a skill (like web design, for example), and someone messages you saying yes please. You agree to a price and get paid. That’s a whirlwind tour, but it’s the essential lowdown. Got a sill? Get involved.

Create online learning materials

If you have a speciality (literally anything, even things like being an expert on board game rules), you can create a video series or PDF style teaching materials. Post your efforts on message boards and watch the fish bite. The better known you become, the more you can charge (you also might want to create a sale funnel by offering teaser materials).
