The Three Musketeers of a Healthy Body

By Mich

body in shapeWhen it comes to health, you need to be on top of three things to get optimum results: diet, exercise and sleep. You won’t achieve your health goals if you neglect one, because they’re all dependent on each other. You need exercise to build muscle and burn fat. A healthy diet feeds your body the essential nutrients needed and sleep handles nutrient distribution and repair.

Diet

Your diet is the lynchpin of your whole health and fitness program. Without a proper diet, all the sleep and exercise in the world won’t make a difference. Remember the term “you are what you eat”? That’s for real, and the more junk you gobble down, the more your weight is going to balloon. For a healthy diet to work, you need:

  • Organic fruits, rice and vegetables
  • Free range chicken and eggs
  • Grass fed beef
  • Deep sea fatty fish
  • Plant based vitamins and supplements
  • A Juicer
  • George Foreman Grill

We’re pretty sure you know all about organic food and free range meat already, so no need to elaborate on that. Supplements derived from plant sources are known to be healthier compared to their synthetic counterparts. A juicer is great if you want to lose weight but still get all the essential nutrients from fruits and veggies. The George Foreman Grill is one of the easiest ways to cut back on unhealthy fat without squishing your food flat while letting the fat drip out.

Exercise

The second part of your health program is exercise. Without it, your body won’t burn enough calories and the excess will be stored as unwanted fat. Any exercise program you can do at home or outdoors that burns a lot of calories and keeps you in the aerobic zone longer is enough to keep you fit and trim. Just be sure you’re burning more than what you’re eating if you want to lose weight. For a kickass home workout, try getting your hands on the following:

  • Running Shoes
  • TRX Suspension Trainer (you can DIY this)
  • Yoga Mat

Investing in a good pair of running shoes is essential if you want to take the sport seriously. Go to a running shoe store that has trained specialists that can measure your foot type and gait so you can get the right pair for your feet. Suspension training is great because you’re also going to be fighting for stability, making each exercise a little bit harder. It’s also an all-in-one gym that you can take anywhere. Use the yoga mat at home so you won’t slip or sweat all over the floor.

Sleep

The last part of your health and fitness program is sleep. You need to get enough rest so your body can repair and heal itself. Sleep is also the time when all the nutrients from food is shuttled to all the organs that need it. A good night’s sleep refreshes the mind and body, so make sure you get all the sleep you need. For a deep, comfortable sleep, you need to get:

  • A good pillow
  • A comfortable mattress
  • Soft bedsheets
  • Sound proofing

Pillows and mattresses choice will depend on your personal preferences. Some people like soft pillows while others don’t. Choose the one you’re most comfortable with and stick with it. Soundproof your room if you’re a light sleeper and make it a point to invest in soft bedsheets and comforters. Choose an ideal time where you’ll start to wind down/relax, and try to sleep at the same time each night so your body will get used to the schedule.

That’s it! The three pillars of a healthy body. Ladies, you can now choose the perfect shapewear to accentuate your new curves without having to worry about the extra bulges. Gents, you can finally wear those tight fitting muscle shirts everyone else is wearing without your tummy hanging out. Just remember to work hard and be mindful of what you eat, especially when eating out. Good luck!
