I put up a guest post on Budgeting in the Fun Stuff about “The Dangers of Cubicle Living“. In my post, I talk about the dangers of letting stress build up, poor exercise and eating habits, and other things that can get us into trouble during our cubicle life. How can we make it better? There’s a new trend in stand-up desks that seeks to undo some of the damage from sitting on our asses all day, and beyond that, perhaps our best hope is to get out of the rat race!
Read the post over at Budgeting in the Fun Stuff: The Dangers of Cubicle Living. Thanks for letting me guest post, Crystal!

I was once in the rat race and let the cubicle lifestyle get me down from the food in the office to being lazy. However I found a job/career I enjoy and I am still saving for that chance to travel the world and be out in the world instead of surrounded by walls. Will head over to Budgeting in the Fun Stuff to check out the post.

Sitting will kill you (regardless of how much exercise you get before/after work); amazing studies out recently. I have one co-worker who literally stands all day. They have that weird standing desk shelf thing you cited. They’re on to something; the best I do is get up and walk around the building when it’s nice out. Every little bit helps!

I agree. Sitting all day is not good for the health. My doctor told me it can even cause different illnesses. I don’t have a stand-up desk but I take at least a 5-minute walk every two hours or stand while typing my article.

Stress+working at a computer all day = painful back and neck! I had an ergo assessment and a few chiro adjustments earlier this year and wow what a diff that made! I use yoga to help manage my stress and to stretch and that helps a lot too! -Sydney

I’ve heard good things about yoga, and sometimes I need to do a back arch to myself to get out that stiff neck feeling. đŸ˜‰
